Amber
  • Household water consumption accounts for around two-thirds of water in the public supply (excluding leaks).
  • Households consumed an average of 148 litres per person each day in 2006.  Annual changes in consumption rates are largely owing to summer weather, and 2003 was particularly warm and dry.  It is believed that there has been no clear underlying increase in per person consumption rates. (Data prior to 1995 are less reliable owing to early data collection systems and have been excluded.)
