  • In 2002-5, 49 per cent of all working age people in Great Britain had contributed to a non-state pension in at least three years out of the last four. This figure has remained fairly constant over the past decade.
  • The proportion of men contributing to a pension has fallen over this period from 60 per cent in 1992-5 to 55 per cent in 2002-5.  For women the proportion increased from 36 per cent in 1992-5 to 44 per cent in 2002-5.
