66. Satisfaction in local area

This is supported by two additional wellbeing measures trust in neighbourhoods and influence in neighbourhoods

  • Across a range of issues, an average of 66 per cent of households were satisfied with their local area in 2006-7, little changed from 67 per cent in 1999-00.  Traffic was identified as a problem by 52 per cent of households, litter/rubbish by 43 per cent and vandalism/hooliganism by 40 per cent.
  • Across the same range of issues, an average of 62 per cent of households in Neighbourhood Renewal Fund Districts were satisfied with their local area in 2006-7.  This had shown no change since 1999-00.
