  • In all regions the density at which new dwellings are built has increased.
  • In 2006 new dwellings in London were built at an average density of 84 dwellings per hectare; the average for England was 40 new dwellings per hectare.
  • The East Midlands built dwellings at the lowest average density of 34 new dwellings per hectare in 2006.
