Percentage of people reporting overall life satisfaction ratings, on a scale from 0 to 10 in London and England, 2007

• The average life satisfaction rating in London in 2007, by using a scale from 0 – 10 (with 0 meaning very dissatisfied and 10 very satisfied), was 6.9, below the national average of 7.3, and the lowest of all the regions.
• Compared with nationally, there were fewer higher ratings given, with the usual peak at 8 shallower, and the emergence of another peak where a greater proportion gave ratings of 5.
